According to the latest Labour Market Outlook survey from the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, employers have become more pessimistic about employment prospects.
Employment prospects for the next quarter have fallen to their lowest level since the survey began, with only a third of employers expecting to increase their workforce. The survey found that a quarter of employers intend to hire migrant workers in the last quarter of 2005, primarily for their skills and experience, although cost is an important consideration when recruiting less skilled migrants.
