Following the new legislation regarding anti-ageism, which came into effect on 1st October 2006, there has been a delay in enforcing this across the pensions sector.
The regulating bodies have welcomed this, as it will give people time to adjust to the new regulations.
Our view
There are two sides to this and implementing huge changes in law across many pension company systems and indeed for employers changing their recruitment, salary and pension policy with take time and money.
There will of course be those that comply, those that make mistakes and those that ignore the law (at their peril).
