Company Cars Still Popular

A survey reveals, the prospect of a top-of-the-range company car can be incentive enough for one-third of employees to switch jobs.  The study from fleet management company Masterlease found 33 per cent of company car drivers would consider leaving their current job if they were offered an equivalent role elsewhere with a better company car.

The research also revealed 27 per cent of company car drivers who have been offered a cash alternative have accepted it to source a vehicle privately.

Our view

Cars are still a visible measure of success and many people like having prestige or new cars.  The problem will always be a balance between cost, employee needs and wants and of course the environment and fuel costs.
