Buy to Let Still Booming

Published / Last Updated on 10/10/2003

The Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) has released figures showing the activity in the Buy to Let market is still booming with 7.7bn lent in the first six months of this year - which is up 6.4% on the latter half of last year.  The average purchase price of the buy-to-let property also rose to £102.500 from £94,000.

Our view

The BTL market is a dangerous market to enter and if you are planning to do so, research what you are looking first.

In addition, make sure you can afford any loan repayments if you do not get a tenant in.
