Benefits Plan: Getting Back to Work

A ‘think tank’ set up by former conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith has suggested that a huge reform of welfare policy is required in the UK to get people back to work.

In simple terms, many people find themselves caughtt in trap where they are better off being on benefits than they are working.

The think tank suggests that money should be redirected to subside those to get back to work rather than keep paying those who do not work.

Tell us something we do not know.

It has been common sense, for most of the working population in the UK, that many people find it financial more beneficial to be on benefits than to work.

In simple terms this highlights the fact that employers cannot afford to pay wages for non-productive, loss making jobs and of course, potential workers cannot afford to work if it pays less than benefits.  Using money to subsidise low paid work, is so simple and the right way yet no doubt will be criticised by ‘do-gooders’.

We agree with much of the 'think tank’s' views and suggest it is implemented ....  yesterday.  If it means ‘subsidised’ workers are working in elderly care or street cleaning or even scraping chewing gum off pavements or fixing our disgusting roads or walking the streets at night as ‘evening police assistants’, it has got to be a good thing.
