AXA Scraps Automatic GP Reports (GPRs) for Under 45s

Published / Last Updated on 16/01/2008

Axa has scrapped the need for automatic GP Reports (doctors reports) for younger lives.  In response to feedback from financial advisers regarding the lengthy delays caused by obtaining General Practitioners Reports (GPRs), AXA has abolished automatic GPR limits for consumers under 45 applying for Life or Critical Illness products.  Also for under 45s’ the automatic GPR limits for Income Protection will increase to £50,000.

As nurse screenings or blood tests, on average are 10-15 days quicker than a GPR, these will be used a lot more.  For younger lives, they provide an underwriter with a better view of health problems including build, habits and blood pressure.

Our view

Well done AXA.
