A report in industry newspaper Financial adviser had said that Cheltenham and Gloucester, the Lloyds TSB subsidiary, has issued some suprising research that the British seem to spend their holidays decorating.
Based upon the average entitlement of 20 working days holidays ( 4 weeks), the research found that on average £550 a year is spent on decorating with eight out of 10 decorating their whole house twice a year.
Our view
Hard to believe. This research must have been limited to suburban "Hyacinth B's" only!
