The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has issued a warning that there is an increasing number of people who are taking mortgages out or extending their mortgage without taking out life insurance protection or top up life insurance protection to protect in the event of death or serious illness.
They issued figures showing that mortgage borrower numbers had increased in the last 10 years by 8.4% but respective protection arrangements was just 4.5% indicating a huge gulf in the two (millions!).
