Women State Pension Age Increase Petition.

Unions Together have launched a petition opposing the acceleration in the equalisation of the state pension age.    Legislation for the acceleration is currently going through parliament, will result in a delay of more than one year in the state pension age for 500,000 women and up to two years for 33,000 women.

It is expected that £30bn will be saved by the government before 2025, plus another £13bn generated in taxes through people working longer by the changes to state pension age.  Women born in 1954 will be the most affected by the changes.
