If your assets are worth around £677,000 then you are officially in the Higher Net Worth individual sector.
A recent wealth report, produced by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Merrill Lynch, reported the number of people in the higher net worth bracket had gone up world wide by 200,000 this year. This means that there are now 345,000 higher net worth individuals in the UK.
However, due to the state of World stock markets, the number of new higher net worth individuals only rose by 3% last year. This is the smallest increase since the report started in 1987 but is expected to be around 8% next year.
