
UK Unemployment Up By 114000.
According to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), UK unemployment rose by 114,000 between June and August and now stands at 2.57 million.
The unemployment total for 16-24 year olds reached a record high of 991,000 in the quarter and the number of people out of work and claiming benefits rose 17,500 to 1.6 million in September.
According to Chris Grayling, the Employment Secretary, even though the UK was not in the Euro, we are not resistant to the problems currently being experienced in the eurozone.
