UK Retail Sales Down

UK Retail Sales Down

by Ashley Clark, Director

As predicted on this site for the last two months where we have suggested that shares in the retail sector should be offloaded, figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have shown that retail sales in July and August are down.

July retail sales were down 0.5% from July with sales in no food items down 0.7%.

We forecast this before it started but suggest that luxury item retail, where people wish to treat themselves, “retail therapy” as we all call it will remain strong.
