Tax Demand Debacle Interest Concession

by Ashley Clark, Director

HMRC has confirmed that people facing tax bills in excess £2,000 as part of recent HMRC tax calculation errors will have interest waived if payments are late or staggered.

Wow, thanks HMRC!

This follows HMRC boss Dave Hartnett appearing before a Treasury Select Committee of MPs to explain this HMRC blunder.

We suggest the concession was therefore a forced political move as HMRC rarely give in to anything.
