UK Inflation CPI and RPI Up

UK Inflation CPI and RPI Up.

January saw the Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) rise to 4 per cent, up from 3.7 per cent in December.  The Retail Price Inflation (RPI) also increased from 3.7 per cent to 5.1 per cent.

There has been continued speculation that the Monetary Policy Committee would need to increase rates as soon as May or June, but the 4 per cent CPI announced today will make that a little less likely to happen, for now.
