UK Economy Grows Just a Little
by Joanne Roberts, Director
Figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has shown that the UK economy grew by 0.3% instead of the forecast 0.2%.
This may appear insignificant at just 0.1% if the trend continues, that is 0.4% more growth in a year than anticipated and means billions added to the UK economy.
Originally, figures have been revised down but perhaps too much.
More figures released today also show that the number of larger companies issuing profits warnings has fallen dramatically.
Much of this u-turn on company fortunes being put down to companies making efficiency cut backs rather than increased activity.
