UK Construction Remains Strong.

UK construction has remained strong as data from the Markit/CIPS’s Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) showed that in December the construction sector grew for the 8th consecutive month. These figures showed that in December the output for British construction was 62.1, this was down from 62.8 in November but still good news as anything above 50 is growth.

The housing construction market still remains on top as the governments Help to Buy scheme continues to help new home buyers. However commercial building work is rising at its fastest pace since 2007.

This is good news all around with jobs in the sector also rising for its 7th consecutive month. The report also predicted that output levels are expected to increase to 57 up from 32 a year before, another sign that the economy is continuing to grow.

Construction businesses noted that due to greater confidence in the economic outlook, has allowed more spending among clients for construction companies.
