Goldfish have revealed from research that 27% of sixth form students have no idea how much university life would cost them. 40% of the students surveyed expected to spend less than £2,500 a year on accommodation and bills - far less than the projected figures issued by the National Union of Students which suggests anything up to £3,433.
44% of sixth formers expected to pay less than £1,000 on food, compared to a figure of £1,067 issued by the NUS.
