Self Assessment Tax Forms Too Complex

A select committee, set up to examine expenditure and admin of Inland Revenue, Customs & Excise and associated bodies, have expressed disappointment about the government's failure to simplify self assessment income tax forms.  Concerns were also raised about the security failings in the Revenue's internet filing service.  In an attempt to assist the self employed and those setting up new businesses, the committee said the Revenue should introduce a scheme to allow taxpayers to pay monthly instalments by direct debit, towards their self assessment tax liability.  Why not visit Accounts Adviser.com for more on accountancy, tax and bookkeeping.  Go to our Tax tables.
