According to the latest figures from Alliance & Leicester's Wealth Tracker Index men spend on average £421 every four weeks compared to women who have a meagre £243. This leaves women with 43% less than men to spend as they wish. However, it appears that women tend to spend more of their disposable income whilst men tend to invest theirs. Men tend to invest around 12% of their disposable monthly income compared to 3% for women.
