Aegon are warning, yet again, that we are not saving enough for our retirement and feel that many people when they reach retirement age will have a nasty shock.
Results from “A Rose-Tinted Future”, show that two-thirds of people know that they are not saving enough, and that two-thirds confirmed that they played the lottery, bingo or the pools each week. The research also revealed that 46 per cent said that they were living for today.
Our view
People are obviously looking at the future through through rose-tinted glasses and are expecting to be better off then they will be. You must start saving now for your retirement. Leave it too late at your own peril.
