The Skipton Building Society has released the findings of it's Financing Your Future Report.
The main predicted outcome is that by the year 2024, the majority of people will be working until they are 70.
Our View
Whilst the age of 70 for State pensions has been doing the rounds for sometime now, people should not be concerned.
The right to retire from age 50 is likely to increase to 55 in years to come but the rise is unlikely to affect the majority of up-and-coming pensioners.
The bottom line is that if you want a decent standard of living in retirement, you must save for yourself.
