Remortgages Summer Bonanza

Published / Last Updated on 23/04/2004

A northern based mortgage packaging company Amity has predicted that the number of re-mortgages will double this summer as people capitalise on releasing profits to fund home improvements rather than buying a new home.

They expect people to refocus on adding value rather than moving.  They suggest that the average cost to add a new room is £20,000 rather than adding a conservatory which will make your home more pleasant but will not necessarily add proportionate value.
