RBS Cash Machine Block.
Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) will stop some of its account holders using cash machines owned by rivals. This will affect nearly 1 million people with basic bank accounts that do not offer overdrafts or cheque books.
They will only be able to withdraw money from RBS, Natwest, Morrisons cash machines, Tesco or over the counter at Post Office branches.
According to RBS, it is unsustainable for them to offer free access to rival bank ATMs for basic accounts as they are charged per bank transaction, which needs to be recovered elsewhere.
