According to figures from Nationwide's monthly house price survey, prices have increased by 0.9% in April, calming fears that property prices are sliding.
The report found that since the last election, property prices in Liberal Democrat-controlled areas have risen the most. They believe that the market would continue to grow slowly, and that the strong labour market was continuing to lift market confidence, but warn that the outlook for interest rates was still uncertain.
