The Association of British Insurers has just released the latest figures from its pensions and savings index. The news is apparently positive but we are not so sure!
According to the 2,479 people asked, 17% said they had trust in the Government's pension policies. The figure for January was 15%. The number of people that believed they would have enough money to retire on increased from 35% to 38%.
Our View
Whilst there is a slight increase in confidence, do 83% of the population really distrust the Government's policies? It would appear so.
When re-thinking policies, the Government needs to bear in mind that only 17 out of 100 people believe they are trustworthy!
