Past Performance is not necessarily ....................

Published / Last Updated on 11/04/2002

The Financial Services Authority have issued proposals that warnings on past performance may no longer be included in the small print of an advertisement.

They propose that new advertising rules should have warnings about performance figures and be included in the main body of any advertisement rather than the small print.

Our view

This is a good move as we believe that people do not read or just ignore the small print and it is normally this part that people get caught out with.

Putting some of the small print in the main body of any brochure or advertisement can only help people be more aware of what their obligations are and what the risks are.
