
Npower Sales Warning.
Energy provider Npower has been warned by the regulator Ofgem that they may have to halt new sales to customers unless it can get its bills delivered on time.
Ofgem has said that Npower must meet all monthly targets between now and August or stop all telesales activities.
Npower acknowledged to Ofgem in December 2013 that it was expecting some issues with its billing system and even agreed a recovery plan. Although they have made some good progress with the plan, the regulator is still concerned that the billing and complaints problem has not been solved to the degree it would have liked.
Despite the failings and investigation by Ofgem under its new Standards of Conduct (SoC), Npower has managed to tackle long standing issues with new customers and the setting up of their direct debits and many of the oldest issues with late billing have be solved.
