The insurer, Royal London is urging the public to make a New Year resolution. Good news for smokers and drinkers as they are not mentioned but pensions are.
Royal London undertook a survey and over 40% of people surveyed said they intended to save more in the coming year. However, just over 35% thought they would stick to their resolve. Only 12% of people resolved to start a pension in the New Year but the old favourites like losing weight, making a Will and getting fit came in most popular.
A spokesperson from Royal London made the comment that it is clear people are trying to help themselves live longer but, how are they going to afford to live without saving for the future and retirement?
