More Moving To The Country

According to Halifax's English Rural Housing Index, the prices of properties in rural areas increased by 5% more over the last ten years than the prices of properties in urban areas.  Halifax believes the difference is due to most rural properties being detached properties that sell at more lucrative prices, despite the Government trying to keep prices affordable through its Affordable Rural Housing Commission.

Our view

It is well known that the UK population works the longest hours and takes less than average holidays.  Stress is rife in the UK workplace and many people are opting to live their lives away from pressure and stress, by moving into rural areas.

Rural property is not as readily available as urban property so people are more likely to pay over the odds for their perfect property.  We believe that stress free living will become increasingly popular over the next decade.
