Consumer watchdog Which? Believes that payment protection cover is an unnecessary and expensive product that is worthless to many people.
A statement released by Which? recently, said that mortgage payment protection insurance (MPPI) cost a lot, but only gave limited cover.
Our view
Whilst we would agree that some types of cover are expensive, it is all relative to the person taking the cover out. If they are desperate to borrow money and the cover offers security then great. Tell the person who has just made a claim that it is expensive.
We accept though that there are also many expensive plans.
