Liverpool Victoria LV= have joined the unclaimed assets register to help its members trace any unclaimed policy assets. Liverpool Victoria said that the collaboration came in addition to its internal tracing services that it currently uses to reunite more than 7000 policyholders and deceased policyholders’ families with the policy proceeds of almost £20m.
The register has nearly 100 members estimates that some £15bn lies unclaimed in the UK. Liverpool Victoria LV= members, their families and solicitors will be able to submit online searches to trace any unclaimed policy assets.
Our view
A great move by Liverpool Victoria. We suggest it protects both their and their members’ positions. The move people that are able to trace their unclaimed assets, the less the government will try and claim for use to fund any pensions compensation schemes.
