Abbey National is again on the rationalisation trail and has announced that both Scottish Provident International and Scottish Mutual International are up for sale.
Abbey is also consulting on the UK arms of these two companies regarding their brands but both companies in the UK will apparently remain in full operation. Abbey will be consulting with the industry until the end of the year when an announcement will be made. Until then the product offerings from both firms will be revamped.
