A ruling today by The European Court of Justice could affect the cost of pension annuities, health cover and life insurance if they rule that insurers have to stop quoting different prices for men and women.
Pension income for men could fall, they could face increases in health insurance rates and some women could face a 50 per cent increase in car insurance.
