Income Tax National Insurance Merger Proposal.
In July this year, the Treasury asked for evidence following a report from the Office of Tax Simplification highlighting the case for integrating national insurance contributions and income tax.
Ministers are examining proposals to integrate the two systems and according to Treasury Exchequer Secretary David Gauke they are looking at ways in which to integrate the operation of income tax and NICs, with benefits for employers and employees.
