HSBC Threatens London HQ Closure
by Ashley Clark, Director
HSBC has suggested that it would consider moving its HQ out of the UK.
Te UK Government has suggested that it will break up the big banks as part of its plans for greater financial stability and reducing impact on the economy as a whole should one bank go under.
HSBC moved its HQ from Hong Kong to the UK in the 1990’s when it bought Midland Bank and suggestions have been made by its chief that it would need to rethink strategy if the UK does reduce major banks grips.
