Housing Bill Attacked

Published / Last Updated on 12/04/2003

The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) has warned that the new Bill could spell disaster for the housing market.  The Bill proposes new "Information Packs" with more detail than the originally proposed 'sellers packs'.  These packs will be required to include information to make the buying and selling of a property more transparent will all necessary information included before any action is taken.

The NAEA estimates that the packs could take up to 2 weeks to prepare given the amount of information required, and could cost the seller in excess of £600 to have one produced.  Yet another cost when you sell your home.

More red tape and more cost - but good protection for the purchaser.   Not so good for the seller.
