It is proposed that housing transactions will move more quickly with the introduction of electronic conveyancing.
This was to be introduced in October 2007, but has been put back to the beginning of 2008 because a problem was detected in the software.
When the electronic conveyancing system is fully operational, it will also include to electronic transfer of funds, making moving house a lot less stressful.
Our view
The basic process should be that easy, the whole system depends upon solicitors, financial advisers, bankers and lenders speed of action and not the system itself.
This is where we believe speed and efficiency will suffer.
