House Prices Break Through GBP100 000

Published / Last Updated on 14/02/2002

According to Halifax the average house price in the UK is now over the £100,000 mark due to house price rises of 16.8% over the last year.  6% of this has been in the last three months and defies overall market trends.

Halifax advise caution and expect house price growth to slow soon with the slowing of the economy and possible unemployment risks.  In a previous article, The Council of Mortgage Lenders also warned people of redundancy risks and the need to to get adequate redundancy protection.
