Homebuyers Unaware of What Is Available

According to research commissioned by the Council for National Land Information Services, nearly one in five of us are unaware of the service that estate agents provide when you are buying a house.

More than half of the people surveyed were unaware of the current base interest rate and 27 per cent were unaware of the new home information packs that will be mandatory in June.

Our view

Some estate agents do not have the knowledge or cannot be bothered to give clients relevant information. The same can be said for their mortgage advisers and their legal advisers. It is a shame that poorer quality agents can tarnish the whole industry.
