Ruth Kelly has confirmed today that the much maligned Home Information Pack, the new home sellers pack that all people looking to sell their property will have to have, is to be postponed until 1 August 2006.
The packs should have gone live on 1 June. The packs will now be phased in starting with larger 4 and above bedroomed properties.
Our view
This delay has been caused by a lack of trained energy efficiency inspectors. What a disaster. Yet again, politicians shown that they are not fit for managing serious projects. They have only been planning this for a few years now. Surely, ensuring that people have the relevant qualification could not have been that difficult.
