Government Mortgage Help Widened

Interest support for mortgages offered by Social Services when people lose their jobs and are unable to pay mortgages has been extended from £100,000 to £200,000.

In addition, the waiting period before you receive help has been reduced from 20 weeks to just 3 months i.e.  13 weeks.

In addition, 8 of the leading mortgage lenders have joined a new initiative to allow people in difficulty to defer interest payments effectively taking payment holidays and add it to the loan.
