Government Landlord Scheme Shunned

by Ashley Clark, Director

The Government’s plans to introduce a website for tenants to rate their landlord and standard of accommodation has been shunned by the National Landlord’s Association.

The plans, which would also allow landlords to rate their tentants has been dismissed as a subjective site where negative feedback would outweigh the positive.

The Government is also planning a register of landlords, in order for prospective tenants to see their landlord’s experience, condition of properties and speed for making repairs.

There are a lot of good and bad landlords and tenants out there and both parties need to be as fully briefed as possible before entering into a lengthy commitment.  Having a website and register will benefit the good and hopefully improve the bad.  Feedback and reviews has never hurt Ebay!
