FTSE Climbs Over 5500.
The FTSE 100 has risen above 5,500 as hopes that a meeting this weekend of European leaders could see a resolution to the eurozone crisis.
Markets across Europe are also up with the German Dax rising 1.4% and the French Cac up 1%, while in Asia, the Nikkei 225 in Japan rose 1.5% and the Hong Kong Hang Seng was up over 2%.
