French Minister New IMF Boss.
Christine Lagarde, France’s Finance Minister, has been named the first woman to become managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She is the first woman to become managing director since the IMF was created in 1944.
According to a statement from Ms Lagarde, she will make it her overriding goal that the IMF will continue to serve its entire membership.
