10m Ponzi Fraud Charges.
Three people have been charged in connection with an alleged £10m “Charles Ponzi” style investment scheme fraud.
Ponzi was the first man to be arrested in the 1920’s for a scheme that does not pay investor returns from any actual profit earned by the investment, but from their own money or indeed money paid in by new investors. In short, there is no investment, just an investment loop that is doomed to failure. These schemes keep on coming back.
