It was revealed recently that the Financial Ombudsman Service could increase its general levy, and get rid of its £360 case fee.
The chairman of the Financial Ombudsman Service admitted that increasing the general levy and removing the case fee was one of the options being considered, as part of its review of its funding regime.
The Ombudsman is the Independent complaints arbitrator that manages disputes between the public and financial companies.
Our view
This is totally unfair. Companies that practice poor standards and get large numbers of complaints should pay more. Why should a firm such as we at , whom to date have NEVER had a complaint submitted to the Ombudsman, be forced to pay even higher Ombudsman fees?
