EU Pressure on Greece

The European Union has threatened Greece with serious financial penalties, if it does not take urgent action to cut costs by the 16 March deadline.
Failing to meet the deadline would mean EU intervention. Greece would not be allowed to vote at an EU meeting and would lose control of its spending and tax policies.
The EU would effectively take control of the Greek government.
