After losing their battle for a full claim against previous auditors, Ernst & Young, Equitable Life were given the go ahead to claim a lower amount.
Whilst a spokesperson for Ernst & Young questioned whether the claim would survive at a trial, this will be addressed in May at the appeal.
Equitable Life said: "we are pleased the judge allowed us to proceed with what we believe is a strong claim"
