Claim Chasers Wealth Warnings

The Ministry of Justice has snubbed Lord Hunt’s call for claim-chasers to be forced to put wealth warnings on their advertising.  Lord Hunt recommended a crackdown on claim-chasers including making them carry warnings about the cost of their service and the free alternatives available.  Kevin Rousell, Ministry of Justice head of claims management regulation says its code of conduct, which ensures this information is disclosed before a contract is signed is enough to protect consumers.

Our view

Lawyers looking after lawyers.  Why is it that every other aspect of financial services planning is required to carry wealth warnings but ‘ambulance chasers’, the legal side of pursuing a compensation claim for financial loss does not?
