Despite the real fears of more interest rate increases in the New Year, a late Chritsmas completion property rush has fueled yet another mini-boom in the housing market.
The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveryors said that stocks of available houses for sale fell to a record 18 month low.
Our view
Interest rate increases are a real threat and in the column, we have already predicted rates to increase by at least 1% in 2004 - this is a real cost increase of around £100pm for the average house!
Be careful and plan accordingly.
